K&D Log Homes is based in Southern Utah, but is expanding there service area. Below you will find a list of states we are currently serving and the various products that are available in those areas. UTAH LOG HOMES
Utah is the base for our manufacturing facilities, and all products are made at the mill in Panguitch which is in Southern Utah.

All logs used in our log homes are made out of dead standing timber. The timber has been killed by beetles, fire or other natural causes and is usually only salvageable by log home companies. Our goal as a company is to harvest dead standing timber while minimizing damage to any healthy trees. We also try to ensure that any meadows and/or bodies of water surrounding the work area are protected as well. As the timber reaches the mill we use the utmost care in handling and processing the materials to ensure that your final product is of the highest quality.
We debark all logs for several reasons, but two apply directly to you as the consumer.
1. With bark removed there is much less dust and dirt on the logs as they enter into the mill. This means a reduction in saw sharpening cycles and replacement, which means a reduction in cost of production.
2. Debarking allows the cants to air dry at a faster rate if the outer layer of the bark has been removed. Our naturally low humidity in Southern Utah allows us to air dry our lumber to 12% MC or lower at a safe rate ensuring that it is dry, not just the outer layer. We also have a kiln for smaller lumber and can heat treat log home materials if needed. Once the materials are dry that is when we run them through a lineal feed machine to make house logs.
