Vermont Log Home Show
Organizers of the Log Home Show located in Vermont this weekend are hoping for strong interest, despite the sluggish economy.
The Expo in Essex Junction is hosting a log home, manufactured housing, and green building show. Even though times are tough and real estate transactions have slowed, organizers point to low mortgage interest rates and energy efficiency concerns as reasons home buyers may check out the show. Plus, these displays tend to produce results for vendors months or even years down the road. By then exhibitors expect a turnaround.
“These are anticipation shows. People come to get ideas and look,” said promoter Bob Cole.
“I think there’s going to be a trend towards homes being a little smaller and easier to heat,” said Mike Gingras of 7 North Log Homes. “A little nicer, maybe, but on the smaller side.”
Displays will also tell consumers about tax incentives for some building choices like installing solar panels. That show runs Friday afternoon through Sunday at the fairgrounds.
