Log Home Builders - About K & D Forest Products Inc.

K & D History

K & D Forest Products Inc. have been log home builders since our facilities were established in 1972 as a small circle sawmill. In 1996 Kevin took over the existing facility and began construction on a larger mill in 1997. While the new mill was under construction we continued to operate the existing circle sawmill to keep orders filled. Over the next year our crew worked very hard to get the new mill completed and in operation. Under the direction of Kevin with the help of some key employees in 1998 the new will was complete and began operation. The new mill consisted of a band saw head rig, edger, re-saw, and trimmer. The new mill was a lot more efficient and user friendly, and also had the ability to process about five times the materials in one shift.

Over the next few years we would continue to grow, add equipment, and update or existing equipment. At our facilities we now have the equipment to make our own tongue-and-groove log home siding, log home siding, house logs, rough sawn beams, and more. We added a debarker in front of the sawmill to provide our new mulch products, and it extends the life of the saws when the bark has been removed. We have recently added a dry kiln to our facilities to dry our wood at a faster rate. This new dry kiln has also made our products more consistent and less gets wasted during the drying process. Over all it has allowed us to improve our log home products, log kits, and manufactured log homes that we can provide across the country.

We are a family business that continues to grow, and we are proud of the log cabin floor plans and timber frame homes we produce and offer to you the consumer. We are proud to provide jobs to families in our community, and support the community in other ways. We plan on the continued growth of our facilities and improvement of our products, and our product line. As a consumer we hope that you will enjoy your visits to our facilities and return time and time again.
